(I need a Xanax.)
(A-hem.)
J Crew posted their new arrivals this morning for fall (thanks Alexis for the head's up!) and like the good little J. Crew Junkie I am, I decided to have a quick peek. Never mind that it's not even the middle of July and we're in a sweltering heat wave here. It's always good to know what retailers are going to be shoving down our throats come fall.
So I hopped over to J Crew to look AND...AND...AND...I SAW THIS.

Poplin Brynn Dress
Which, you know, is a pretty dress. It is! I love the color. Ooooh, and the tiers. I'm really feeling purple right now, now that I'm a red head. It's a good color for me.
So I was so enamored by this dress that, at first, I neglected to notice WHAT WAS ON HER FEET. It honestly took a few seconds to register, darling readers- I'm a bit slow in the mornings.
BUT LOOK AT WHAT IS ON HER FEET. SWEET FUCKING WHAT-THE-HELL CHARLIE BROWN, SHIIIT. NO! NO! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
&!*@&#*#(!*!!!!!
WHAT IS ON HER FEET?!?!?!
I've just gotten used to the booties! I even kind of like booties- they're like high heels only, like, much easier to walk in (brilliantly stated, Chloe). I can't wear them with dresses because I have ridiculously short legs and booties tend to cut them up and make my legs look even shorter, but I do like them under pants and/or with tights. It's a trend I hated at first but have slowly, begrudgingly given into. For comfort's sake, mainly. And okay, admittedly there are some cute ones out there- I still love my Miss Sixty Witchy booties, even if I have not a clue what to wear them with.
BUT! WITH SOCKS?! WEARING THEM WITH ANKLE SOCKS?!?!!?!?!? Seriously J Crew, you are breaking my god damn heart. You have taken this too far. Didn't anyone ever tell you no when you were a child? Where's yours sense of boundaries? WHERE'S YOUR SENSE OF DECENCY?! It doesn't even look good on the model! She's wearing a look of bewilderment and...and...and...and pain! Yes, I'm pretty sure pain! If it doesn't look good on her, how's it supposed to look on the rest of us poor shmoes?
I almost want to boycott you for this one, and I really mean it this time. But then Goldenmeans posted about these pretty pups:

And, well- all was quickly forgiven. Let's just say my hand was twitching and shaking so hard from the fury of the booties with the socks that I accidentally hit the check-out button and bought the peep toes.
Hm. Funny how that happens.
They were on sale for $80(!) and J Crew shoes are my shoes of choice (you guys see how often I rock my Perfectly Patent Pumps in Dusty Rose, it's almost disgusting) since they're so comfy and lovely and nice. My size was one of the few left- so it was a sign! A sign from up above! That this God person wants me to have awesome things to wear on my feet!
And apparently this God fellow also took the day off when J Crew did their photo shoot for the fall collection. I've have almost nothing nice to say about these new arrivals. Not a single thing makes my heart flutter. I don't feel anything great or grandiose about the collection except that they kind of make me want to stab my eyes out with pencils (greatly and grandiosely stab my eyes out, there we go!). There aren't enough colorful expletives in the English language to touch this shiznit. I'm at a loss for words. Aside from my temporary on-set of Tourette's, I am actually at a loss for words.
It's too early in the morning for this, and now I'm all flummoxed and bothered. What do you guys think of the new arrivals?
